07/08/2010 - Phoenix, AZ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Phoenix Suns have signed center Channing Frye to a five-year deal on Thursday.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Arizona product posted 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest in 81 games last season for the Suns, his first with the club. He also contributed 1.4 assists per contest in 27 minutes per game.

"Channing's ability to shoot and spread the floor was instrumental in our success last season, and it was very important for us to bring him back," said Suns head coach Alvin Gentry. Frye was selected eighth overall in the 2005 NBA draft by the Knicks, and spent the first two seasons of his career with New York before moving to Portland for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.
